Mrs. Eleanor Ann Greer 73, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Judge Donald Parish will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Saturday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Sunday from 9:00 AM until time of service.

Mrs. Greer was born May 21, 1940 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late Kenneth L. and Virley Odell (Mann) Townsend. She was a home maker and attended Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church. One of her favortie things to do was to do all of her own canning of vegetables and fruits. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald "Duck" Townsend.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James W. Greer; one daughter, Cynthia A. Sanders (husband Dennis) both of Huntingdon; two sons, James W. Greer, Jr. (wife Robin Lynn) of Oakdale, Kenneth R. Greer (wife Debbie Snyder-Greer) of Marietta, Georgia; two brothers, Larry Townsend and Terry Townsend both of Huntingdon. She also leaves six grandchildren, Matthew Greer, Jennifer Lewis, Summer Greer, Ashley Korf, Amber Shapton and Trevor Sanders and nine great grandchildren.
