Mr. Bennie Don Avery, 73, of Huntingdon, passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. James Daniel officiating.

The family will receive friends in the Oakwood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

Mr. Avery was born May 22, 1945 in Brownsville, Tennessee, to the late Bennie Arthur Avery and Dorothy Dean "White" Avery.  He was retired from the Town of Huntingdon Public Works Department and a member of True Tabernacle Pentecostal Church.  He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Lopez, Linda Coste, Connie Stanford.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Ann Avery, two daughters, Lisa Scott of Huntingdon, Renae Avery of Henderson, one son, Mike Avery (Christie) of Huntingdon, one sister, Vicki Avery of Jasper, Alabama, and one brother, James Avery (Faye) of Jasper, Alabama.  He also leaves six grandchildren, Kristy Lindsey (Josh), Michael Cody Avery (Brittany M. Ward), Destiny Williams, Austin Avery, Christopher Avery, Hunter Hindman and nine great-grandchildren.
