Mrs. Bertha Mae Belew, 92 of Atwood, Tennessee passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the NHC Health Care in Milan.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Mount Olive Baptist Church. Reverend Terry L. Fuller and Reverend John Wade Bryant, Sr. will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Mount Olive Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday at the Mount Olive Baptist Church from 11:00 AM until time of service.
Mrs. Belew was born February 22, 1922 in Gibson County, Tennessee, to the late Elijah and Nettie (Thomas) Weddle. She was a lifelong member of Mount Olive Baptist Church where she served as Church Secretary, Sunday School Teacher and a member of Missionary Society. She was a sweet gentle and quiet spoken woman. She enjoyed quilting and working in her garden and had a special love for flowers.
She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Mattie Carolyn Bryant and Son-in-law, Ellis Carl Bryant, Atwood, TN; Sister, Doris (William) House of Milan, TN; Grandchildren; Rickey Vonner of Colorado Springs, CO, William and Amanda Belew of Bloomington, IL, Shasta Bryant of Nashville, TN; Nephews, Charlie Lee (Wilma) and Clifford (Carriette) Weddle both of Milwaukee, WI, Nieces, Doris Weddle of Jackson, TN, Nellie Weddle of Detroit, MI, Gwen Strayhorn of Atwood, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends.
