Mrs. Betty Jean Hardy, 82, of Cedar Grove, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Friday, April 18, 2025 at 1:00 PM with Bro. Darrell Ridgely officiating. Burial will follow in Palmer Shelter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Friday from 11:00 AM until time of the service.
Pallbearers who will serve are Brian Campbell, Ryan Campbell, Jake Campbell, Trevor Akin, Ronnie Keel and Frankie Tidwell.
Mrs. Hardy was born August 4, 1942, in Cedar Grove, to the late Lois and Gladys Barger Sutton. She was a member of Carters Chapel Methodist Church and was a seamstress for H.I.S. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Hardy, sisters, Joann Tidwell, Lyndell Thomas, and brothers, Robert Sutton, Tommy Sutton, and Larry Sutton.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John Hardy, two daughters, Paula Akin (Richard) of Huntingdon and Kimberly Campbell (Brian) of Kingsport, and a daughter in law, Tammy Hardy. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Amanda Hardy, of Miami, Florida, Zachary Hardy (Rachel) of Madisonville, Kentucky, Ryan Campbell (Brianna) of Lexington, Trevor Akin, of Huntingdon, Jake Campbell, of Kingsport, Mallory Smith, of Huntingdon, and Tyler Autry, of Huntingdon, as well as four great-grandchildren, Harrison Hardy, Emma Dillingham, Asher Akin, and Nolen Smith.
