Mr. Billy Joe Higdon, 82, of Yuma, Tennessee passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery with Bro. Chase Sanders officiating.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 9:00 AM until time of service.

Pallbearers who will serve are Matthew Wilson, Dylan Wilson, Colten Smith, Ashby Wade, Kent Smith, and Michael Smith.

Mr. Higdon was born June, 18, 1942 in Bruceton, Tennessee to the late Orville Higdon and Lura Beasley Higdon. He was a member of the Clarksburg Church Christ. His last twelve years of work was at South Carroll School in Clarksburg where the children affectionately called him "Mr. Fix It". He was preceded in death by two brothers, Millard Higdon, James Higdon and four sisters Lorene King, Onellia Kirk, Lawana Smothers, and Dorothy Edwards.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mrs. Patsy Higdon, daughter Susan Smith (Kent), 2 sons Ricky Higdon (Diana) of Lexington and Chris Higdon (Windy) of Westport, and a sister Betty Foreman of Huntingdon. He has four grandchildren Dylan Wilson, Matthew Wilson, Colten Smith (Angel) and Rachel Wade (Ashby) and three great grandchildren Evie Jo, Amos Wade, and Greyson Smith. He also leaves several nieces and nephews along with many great friends.
