Mr. Carl Ray Cannon, 81, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Jacob Harris officiating. A heartfelt tribute will be shared by Bro. Reggie Thomas. Interment will follow in Union Academy Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.
Pallbearers who will serve are Tim Hilliard, Taylor Hilliard, Grant Hilliard, Jake Winters, Frankie Welch, and Mark James. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Harris, Johnny Doub, Henry Younger, and L.N. McNabb.
Mr. Cannon was born March 1, 1943, in Huntingdon, to the late Joseph and Nannie Lee Bedwell Cannon. He was a tip fabricator for Norandal and a member of Springhill Baptist Church. He was a Christian man who deeply valued his family and friendships. With his positive outlook, generosity, and compassionate nature, he left a lasting impression on those around him. Always ready to lend a hand, Carl Ray's strong work ethic and kindness were qualities that many admired. His thoughtfulness and willingness to support others are traits that will be remembered by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Cannon, daughters, Teri Hilliard (Tim), of Huntingdon, Tameka Granger (Eddie) of Trezevant, four grandchildren, Taylor Hilliard (Samantha), Grace Winters (Jake), Grant Hilliard, and Madison Granger, and two great-grandchildren, Isla Winters and Logan Ray Hilliard.
