Obituary

Mrs. Chestine Johnson Foulks, 92 of Huntingdon, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Clark Street Missionary Baptist Church.  Interment will follow at Carroll Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Eugene Jones will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends at Clark Street Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of service.

Mrs. Foulks was born February 21, 1927 in Henry, Tennessee, to the late Joe Johnson and Dellie (Price) Johnson.  She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Rosser Missionary Baptist Church at a young age and later joined the Clark Street Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member and served on the choir and missionary society until she was unable to attend due to her health.  Chestine continue to worship and praise the Lord in her home. She was also preceded in death by a daughter by a previous marriage, Verlene Hillard Nolen, two brothers, Oscar Johnson, Joe Willie Johnson, two sisters, Coetta Pearson and Molly Foster.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda Taylor (Willie "Abe"), Sherry Foulks, and Janice Ray all of Huntingdon, a loving sister-in-law, Ester Johnson, one brother-in-law, Joe Foulks (Rose).  Seven grandchildren, Darrell Hillard (Gloria), Nashville, TN, Gregory Hillard (Alicia), Dickson, TN, Gary Hillard (Calandra), Clarksville, TN, Trevetta Foulks, Candace Nunley, Huntingdon, TN, Cory Johnson, Knoxville, TN, Heather Taylor, Clarksville, TN, fourteen great-grandchildren, and twenty great-great grandchildren.  She also has a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
