Ms. Brewer was born on December 18, 1952, to the late Herbert and Evelyn (Pinson) Brewer. She grew up on a farm and as a young girl sometimes took naps between the rows of cotton. She graduated from Clarksburg High School and soon got married. She had no children, but that wasn't a problem for her. She had her nieces and nephews, her friends and her animals. She was well known as an animal lover and often rescued animals from the side of the road or from parking lots. Many cats and dogs "mysteriously" showed up at her house over the years and she always took them in or found good homes for them.
Aunt Cynthia or Perk, as many called her, was a practical woman. She was a "do-it-yourself" person at her house. She got her haircuts at the barbershop and carried a wallet. She would make an exception and carry a large purse when she went to the theater so she could hide her bag of popcorn inside! She loved to work in her yard and could often be found outside mowing as soon as the weather was warm. It would make her day if someone stopped to tell her how beautiful her flowers were.
Cynthia worked at the Mckenzie Pajama Factory, Keiko Dog Food Plant and later was a sitter for the elderly. After retiring, she continued to help the elderly but wouldn't allow them to pay her. She mowed their yards, took them to doctor's appointments and became their friends.
She is survived by a sister, Rosalind Cole of Huntingdon, a brother, Randell Brewer (Dianne) of Smyrna, a nephew, Chris Cole (Karla), four nieces, Rhonda Walsh (Mike), Jennifer Meshotto (Rodney), Sybil Stafford (Matt), and Tina Campbell (Jeff). She also leaves seven great nieces and nephews, many cousins, and friends.
