Mr. Darrell Gooch "Goochie" Hester, 68, of Buena Vista passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Friends of Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge, Friends of Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park, or Benton County Public Library

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home.   Bro. Donald Ricketts will officiate the service. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Mr. Hester was born August 19, 1950 in Huntingdon, Tennessee, to the late Thomas Hardy and Ira Viola (Gooch) Hester.  He was retired from the Milan Arsenal as a line supply technician.  He was also preceded in death by six sisters, Glenda Gail Bell, Helen Sparks, Mary Oatsvall, Betty Sue Hollingsworth, Martha Pearson and Barbara Kay Rust and three brothers, Thomas Hester, Joe Hester and William "Bill Boy" Hester.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Sandy Hester, one daughter, Jennifer Thornton (Terry) of Camden, two sisters, Alice Mitchell of Bruceton, Sandra Milam (Tommy) of Portageville, Missouri, and a brother, Dale Hester (Dian) of Wildersville.  He also leaves two grandchildren, Mercedes and Madison Thornton.
