Mr. Donald Peter Manhart Sr., 75 of Bruceton, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2104 at his home surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 1:00PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the New Prospect Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Monday, from 11:00AM until time of service.

Pallbearers who served were Matthew Dykes, Gary Gilliam, Alex Gilliam, Michael Gonzales, Michael Manhart, and Dalton Manhart.

Mr. Manhart was born October 17, 1939 in Caledonia, Minnesota to the late Henry and Stella Manhart and was the youngest of six children. Donald moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin in 1959 and began work with American Motors, which was later purchased by Chrysler, where he retired in 1991. He married the former Mary Helen Fischer of Hokah, Minnesota on June 11, 1960 and they bore seven children. Donald was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Manhart, who was tragically killed by a drunk driver before the age of 3 years in 1967 and a granddaughter, Shyanne Manhart who survived one month from birth and died in April 2000.

He is survived by four daughters, Donna Gilliam and Susan Johnson, both of Bruceton, Charlene Paar of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, and Joan Dykes of Jackson;and  two sons, Donald Peter Manhart Jr. of Bruceton and Michael Manhart of McLemoresville, TN.He also leaves 24 grandchildren and 14 great -grandchildren.
