Mr. Donald "Duck" Mitchell, 82, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Friday, January 23, 2026 at his home.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Saturday January 31, 2026 with Bro. Sammie Douglas, Bro. Robert Simmons, and Bro. Jim Holt officiating. Interment will follow in New Prospect Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of the service.

Pallbearers who will serve will be Hunter Hill, Blake Longmire, Scotty Ball, David Riggs, Mark Thomas, Morris Rogers, Burt Baker and Andy Williams

Mr. Mitchell was born April 9, 1943, in Camden, Tennessee, to the late Gilbert Mitchell and Lucille Hedge Mitchell. Many of his friends and family knew him as "Duck", a nickname given to him as a child.  He worked as a mechanic and in production at Leroy Somer. He was a preacher and song leader at Calvary Baptist Church, a member of the Gospelaires, a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wilburn Mitchell (Yvonne Mitchell).

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Mitchell, two daughters, Tiffany Hill (Edward) of Huntingdon, Tammy Brandon (Spence) of Medina, a sister-in-law, Yvonne Mitchell, of Vale, five grandchildren, Hannah Ball (Scotty), Haley Longmire (Blake), Hunter Hill, Savannah Brandon, Seth Brandon, and three great-grandchildren, Bentley, Kinsley, and Hudson.

We have peace in knowing he is with his Lord and Savior.
