Mrs. Dorothy Sue Horton, 84 of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie McClure officiating.  Interment will follow in Liberty All Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Mrs. Horton was born January 6, 1939 in McKenzie, Tennessee, to the late Wiley and Rosa Lee (White) Matlock.  She worked at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center in housekeeping and attended Union Grove Baptist Church.  Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Clifford Horton, one daughter, Betty Jean Tyler, two brothers, Dwayne Matlock and Bill Matlock.

She is survived by four daughters, Trish Waggoner (Rick) of Martin, Kathy Carson (Kenneth) of Huntingdon, Rita Crocker of McKenzie, Danita Land (James) of Huntingdon, two sons, Mike Horton (Tina) of Huntingdon, Johnny Horton (Theresa) of McKenzie, two sisters, Janice Bartholomew (Jack) of Oklahoma, Faye Hartzer of McKenzie, and one brother, Jerry Matlock of McKenzie.  She also leaves twenty grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren.
