Obituary

Mrs. Emma Jean Nesbitt, 86 of Huntingdon, Tennessee, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Rev. Ivey Jamison officiating the service.  Interment will follow in Humbles Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Mrs. Nesbitt was born December 5, 1934 in Huntingdon, Tennessee, to the late James Webb and Ada Johnson.  She owned and operated Nesbitt's Country Kitchen and a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church.  Other than her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Glen Nesbitt and three sisters, Manon Barnett, Mary Sue Parker, Ollie Walker,  and five brothers, Gerald Hampton, Willie C. Johnson, Fred Johnson, J. C. Webb, Sr., and James Johnson

She is survived by six daughters, Betty Williams of Cedar Grove, Judy Smith of Milan, Miranda Allen of Cordova, Jaquita Hyde of Camden, Jaleesa Owens of Jackson, Cornisha Nesbitt of McKenzie, three sons, Farrell Nesbitt of Bruceton, Otis Nesbitt (Karen) of Huntingdon, Anthony Nesbitt (Melinda) of Paris, two sisters, Mattie Jamison (Rev. Ivey Jamison) of Huntingdon, Patricia Webb, six brothers, Tice Hampton (Geneva) of Columbus, Ohio, Lester Johnson of Huntingdon, Buford Webb,  Arthur Webb of North Carolina, Riley Webb of McLemoresville, and Jessie Webb of Fulton, Kentucky.  She also leaves twenty-three grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
