Mrs. Eunice Jean Pendergrass 79, of Cedar Grove, Tennessee passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Regional Hospital in Jackson.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery. Bro. Richard Patton will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

Pallbearers who will serve are Donald Meals, Brent Baker, Jerry McDaniel, Christopher McCaslin, Terry Altom, Tommy Altom and Rick Scott.

Mrs. Pendergrass was born September 5, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to the late R. D. and Bernice Nell (Usery) Patton. She moved to Tennessee in 1947, she graduated from Trezevant High School in 1953, lived in Memphis until she retired after 30 years of working as an accountant for the University of Tennessee Dental College, 20 years for Reed's Jewelers and worked the last 10 years for Kay's Jeweler's, she was a certified gemologist and a certified diamontologist. She was also a member of the Hickory Flat United Methodist Church and the Women's Auxiliary. She was also preceded in death by a nephew, David B. Patton.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Cecil A. Pendergrass; one daughter, Sandra Jean Pendergrass; one sister, Dolores Ann Patton all of Cedar Grove and two brothers, Bobby Ray Patton (wife Frances) of Savannah, Georgia and Richard Patton (wife Carolyn) of Portland. She also leaves one grandson, Christopher Steven McCaslin and three great grandchildren, Andrew Blaine Howell, Brooklyn Jade McCaslin and Christopher Gage McCaslin.
