Obituary

Mr. Franklin Rushing 72, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021 and his wife, Mrs. Deborah Jean Rushing, 69, both of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021, both at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to:

Given the current Covid conditions and the families concern for the health and well being of others, the family request visitors please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Joint funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Union Academy Cemetery in McKenzie.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Thursday from 9:00 AM until time of service.

Mr. Rushing was born June 10, 1949 in Huntingdon, Tennessee, to the late Luther Cecil and Floy Lucinda (Laws) Rushing.  He was a retired Environmentalist for the State of Tennessee, a member of Skyline Church of Christ of Jackson, TN, and an Alumni of the UTM.  Other than his parents he was also preceded in death by wife of 34 years, Debra Jean Cannon, their four-legged fur baby, Taffy Rushing, two brothers, Laws Rushing, George Rushing and one sister, Eloise Ross.

Mrs. Rushing was born March 18, 1952 in Milan, Tennessee, to the late Eugene and Bonnie Sue (Byars) Cannon.  She was a retired teacher for the Obion County School District, a member of Skyline Church of Church of Jackson, TN, and an Alumni of the UTM. If you knew Deborah you know how much she loved and was loved by her "kids" at school.  Other than her parents she was also preceded in death by their four-legged fur baby, Taffy Rushing, and one brother, Dennis Cannon.

They are survived by one special cousin, Carla Boyd Sanders (Dave) of Bruceton, two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Rushing of Finger, and Charlene Rushing of Hendersonville.  They also leave several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
