Mr. Robert Gaylon Webb 69, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Clark Cemetery. Bro. Fred Ward and Bro. George Hill will officiate the service.
The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Friday after 4:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Pallbearers who will serve are Clint Kee, Geoffery Kee, Mark Webb, Craig Webb, Michael Webb, David Webb, Mark McClintock, Mike McClintock, Eric McMackin and Donnie McMackin.
Mr. Webb was born August 22, 1945 in Westport, Tennessee to the late Fred W. and Clara Mae (Reed) Webb. He was the Co-Owner of Webb's Auto Parts, a member of the Huntingdon First Baptist Church. He was a former race car driver and was the Winner of the 1989 NHRA National Championship He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Clay Webb.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Webb; one daughter, Lori Pierce (husband Barry) both of Huntingdon; two sisters, Dorothy Jarrett (husband Desmond) of Camden, Becky Kee (husband L.T.) of Huntingdon; four brothers, Russell Webb (wife Martha) of Lexington, James Webb of Bruceton, Joe Webb (wife Sybil) of Westport, and Jimmy Webb of Yuma, and two sister-in-laws, Ann McClintock and Sandra Johnson. He also leaves three grandchildren, Lindsay Pierce Barnett (husband Clint), Jay Pierce, and Abby Pierce, two great granddaughters, Andi and Ellie, and twenty nieces and nephews.
