Mr. Gerald Dean Wood, 88, of Atwood, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018, at the NHC Healthcare in Milan.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Atwood First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Pisgah Cemetery. Bro. Jimmy Furr and Bro. Darrel Joyner will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends at the Atwood First Baptist Church on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Monday from 12:00 PM until time of service.

Pallbearers who will serve are Jerry Paul Wood, Jeff Wood, Jimmy Pillow, Nolan Robinson, Frank Robinson, Frankie Joe Wood, Jr., and Billy Hanks.

Mr. Wood was born November 8, 1929 in Gibson County, Tennessee to the late Howard Milton Wood Sr. and Mellie Virginia Wood. He was a lifelong farmer, a member of the Atwood First Baptist Church, and served in the Army National Guard. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Elizabeth (Pillow) Wood and a brother, Howard Milton Wood, Jr.

He is survived a daughter, Barbara Tolley (husband Mike) of Atwood; two son, Frankie Wood (wife Ellen) of Atwood and Larry Wood (wife Lu) of Perry, Florida; a sister, Joyce Chester of Milan; a half sister, Becky Edwards of Adamsville; a half brother, Bret Wood of Texas. He also leaves five grandchildren, Jeremy Tolley (Amy Lynn), Amy Michelle Tolley, Frankie J. Wood Jr., Lucinda Scott (Ricky), and Mindy Agent and eight great grandchildren, Julie Plunkette, Dakota Saunders, Trey Wood, Rebecca Wood, J.J. Agent, Aiden and Ava Tolley, and Elijah Scott.
