Mr. William Grady Smothers, 76 of Huntingdon, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to:  St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude PL, Memphis, TN   38105-9959

The family will receive friends in the Oakwood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Mr. Smothers was born June 18, 1945 in Huntingdon, Tennessee, to the late Howard and Opal (Smith) Smothers.  He was a retired truck driver for Espey Oil Company, he worked for West Tennessee Motor Express, where he was a member of the Teamster Union, and was in the National Guard for a number of years. Other than his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister, Faye Townsend.

He is survived by his wife of fifty four years, Chris Smothers, one daughter, Monica Smothers of Huntingdon and one sister Janice Ross of McKenzie.
