Mrs. Greta Bell Perry Bond 82 of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Rev. Alex Hilliard will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until time of service.

Mrs. Bond was born January 10, 1952 in Lansing, Michigan to the late James and Eleanor Perry. She graduated from De Witt High School in 1949 and in 1953 graduated from Alma College in Alma, Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. She continued her post graduate studies at Michigan State University and San Diego State University. She married Ernest Bond in 1952 in DeWitt, Michigan. After teaching school in Michigan for 8 years, she and Ernest moved their family to Carlsbad, California where they resided until their retirements in 1987. She taught school in Vista, California for 24 years. She and Ernest retired to Huntingdon in 1987. She was a member of the Michigan Education Association, California State Teachers Association and Vista Teachers Association. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a Member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. Her hobbies were sewing, reading and camping.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ernest Bond, one daughter, Jana Blackwell and two sons, Perry Bond (wife Mary) and Jay Bond (wife Connie). She also leaves six grandchildren.
