Obituary

Mr. Harold Eugene Palmer, 84 of Huntingdon, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 10:00AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the New Crossroads Cemetery. Bro. Tim Maness and Bro. Tracy McDaniel will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00PM until 8:00PM (with Masonic Rite Service beginning at 8:00 PM) and on Tuesday, from 8:00AM until time of service.

Mr. Palmer was born May 15, 1927 in Henderson, Tennessee to the late Elbert Palmer and Annie (Cothren) Palmer. He was retired stationary engineer for the CNA Bank for over 30 years and a member of the New Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Huntingdon Masonic Lodge #106, American Legion, Union of Operating Engineers, and Eastern Star #180. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Palmer and Dorothy Haynes, and two brothers, Paul and Jack Palmer.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gracie Inez Arnold Palmer, two daughters, Edna Hartig of Denver, Colorado, Theresa Zahurance (Don) of Cassville, Wisconsin. one son, Fred Palmer (Joyce) of Scottsburg, Indiana, one sister, Anna Laura Murchison of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also leaves 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
