Herbie went to be with our Heavenly Father on December 16, 2017 he passed away peacefully.

He is survived by his mother, Pauline Hunt( husband Mearl) of Paw Paw, Michigan; three daughters, Angie Simpson of Otsego, Michigan, Melissa (Newton) Reist (husband Rodney) of Three Rivers, Michigan and Patricia (Newton) Thames (husband Shawn) of Paw Paw Michigan; one son, Eric Michaud of Otsego, Michigan; fiancé, Michele (Newton) Zinkel of Huntingdon, Tennessee; brother, Randy Newton (wife Laura) of Milan, Tennessee; sister, Tami Newton (fiancé Gary) of Watervliet, Michigan; seven step sisters, Debbie Byars(husband Chuck) of North Carolina, Sandy Main (husband Bill) of Texas, and Kathy White (husband Richard) of Michigan, Mary, Barb, and Robin all of Otsego, Michigan; four step brothers, Rick, Jerry, Danny, and Raymond all of Otsego, Michigan. He also leaves fifteen grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his father; Herbert James Newton Sr.; a brother, Gerald Mc Clain; a cousin, Ralph Weaver; father figure, Noah Combs .

Herbie served two years in the United States Marine Corp. He also enjoyed truck driving and spending time with his family. Herbie loved the outdoors. His four legged best friend was Sassy, Michele, and his children were his life.
