Mrs. Ida "Kittyhawk" Birdwell, 81, of Cedar Grove, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Bro. Robert Barger will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00PM with Eastern Star services at 7:00 PM and on Friday from 12:00 PM until time of service.

Mrs. Birdwell was born August 7, 1936 in Benton County, Tennessee to the Leslie Frank and Letha Minnie (Williams) Yockem. She was a homemaker, a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Stars. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernice "Redfox" Birdwell, four sisters, and two brothers.

She is survived by two daughters,  Deborah Brown (husband Mike) of McKenzie and Clara Nanney (husband Donald) of Millington; one son, Roger Birdwell (wife Connie) of Cedar Grove; one sister, Shirley Barker of Huntingdon. She also leaves nine grandchildren, Lee Barham, Jana Barham, Justin Brown, Jake Brown, Jason Whitt, Roger Birdwell Jr., Stephanie Spain, Rhonda Adams, Tennille Baker, fourteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
