Mr. J. G. Willis, 81 of Huntingdon, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020 at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 1:00 PM, for all the family, in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Rev. Ivey Jamison will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Humbles Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, in a walk by visitation, in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM.
Mr. Willis was born January 14, 1939 in Huntingdon, Tennessee at the late Willie and Pearlie (King) Willis. He was employed at H. I. S. in Bruceton, Tennessee for over 35 years, a faithful man of God, a member of the Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon of 46 years and a member of the Male Choir for over 30 years. He also sang for three different gospel groups: Four Hearts of Zion, Heavenly Crowns, and Kingdom Aires. He was well known for his Fashionable Dressing. He enjoyed dressing and spending time with family. He genuinely loved people. To know him was to love him. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Hulon (Shirley) Willis and one sister, Brooksie Nell Willis.
He is survived by his wife of ten years, Helen Marie Willis of Huntingdon, four daughters, Palma Chapple of Wildersville, Tamika (Joe) Williams of Huntingdon, Peggy Rivers and Kanyetta Waters, both of Chicago, Illinoi,s one son, Tyrone (Subrena) of Memphis, Tennessee and one brother, Edgar Willis of Michigan. He also leaves fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family.
