Ms. Jackie Lumon Smith, 48 of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Rev. J. D. Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in Humbles Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of service.

Ms. Smith was born August 23, 1970 in Huntingdon, Tennessee.  She graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1989.  She then attended Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee.  She decided to join the United States Army in 1991 where she was stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina; Camp Stanley, South Korea; Fort Hood, Texas.  During her service in the Army, she served as a Postal Clerk and in Finance. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy P. Taylor.

She is survived by her father, Lawrence T. Taylor, Sr.; step-mother, Martha J. Taylor; four brothers, Haywood (Robin) Melton, Erick (Marlieca) Melton, Nicholas (Amanda) Taylor, and Lawrence (Morgan) Taylor, Jr.; one step-sister, Shandrike (Anthony) Perry, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends.
