Mr. James Edward DePriest, 82 of Huntingdon, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 12, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pisgah Cemetery. Bro. Wayne Burton and Bro. Bill Lambert will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Cherry Wood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service.

Mr. DePriest was born November 19, 1929 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late Sylvester (Jack) and Letta (Beal) DePriest. He was a member of the Faith in Christ Ministries, member of American Legion, a Korean War Army Veteran. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Carter, two sisters, Ruby Allen, Mary Frances Robinson, three brothers, Bobby Gene DePriest, William Roy DePriest, and Howard Samuel DePriest.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Peggy DePriest, one daughter, Melissa (DePriest) Carter, one sister, Faye Carter (husband Ronnie), and one brother, Joe DePriest (wife Doris), all of Huntingdon. He also leaves one granddaughter, Jessica Carter of Knoxville, a host of nieces and nephews.
