Mr. James Edward Johnson 80, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Henry County Healthcare Center.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Parkers Chapel Cemetery. Bishop Carlos Shutes will officiate the service.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
Mr. Johnson was born August 26, 1933 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late Graster and Lissie (Moffit) Johnson. He was a retired warehouse foreman for Watson Lumber Company and a member and Deacon at Parkers Chapel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his twelve children: Pamela (Gary) Parker , Jo Ann (Frankie) Smith, Jeanette (Tracy) Binion , Dwight (Rhonda) Williams , Michael (Penny) Williams , James O'Brian (Toni) Johnson, Eric Johnson, Edward Ray Johnson and Valarie Williams all of Huntingdon, Bobby Joe (Lela) Williams of Covington, Mary Lou Johnson of Humboldt and Ernie Lee (Margo) Chapple of Champaign, Illinois, special brother-in-law J.G. Willis, son-in-law, Jimmy Hill of Hollow Rock, one brother Johnie Lee (Daisy) Johnson, three sisters-in-law, Cora Lee Williams, Onita Thomas, and Retha Mae (Charlie) King. He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Ray Johnson, one daughter; Myra Hill, one sister, Narvis Weathers, one grandson, Reynard Ambrew four brothers, Claudus Johnson, Wilson Johnson, Minor Dee Johnson, and Henry Johnson. He also leaves 36 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, fishing buddy "Mamma Sue" and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
