Mr. James Wilbern Mitchell, 81 of Bruceton, Tennessee passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 12 Noon in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Bro. Sammy Douglas will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Oak Wood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Mr. Mitchell was born June 8, 1936 in Benton County, Tennessee to the late Gilbert and Lucille (Hedge) Mitchell. He was a retired truck driver for the Carroll County Highway Department and served as a deacon for the Humbles Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dwight Bullington.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Yvonne Jean (Fowler) Mitchell, three daughters, Anita Carol Bullington of Bruceton, Lisa Gail McGee (Charles Jr.) of Burlison, Kelly Lynn Mitchell of Bruceton, one son, Jeffrey Wilbern Mitchell of Bruceton, and one brother, Donald Mitchell (Mary) of Buena Vista. He also leaves three grandchildren, Dawn Nicole Smith, Casandra Sisco, Christopher Smith, eight great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
