Mr. James "Red Bone" Gordon Pruitt , 68, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in New Liberty Cemetery. Bro. Tim Maness will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Oakwood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 12:00 PM until time of service.

Pallbearers who will serve are James Tucker, Gayle Kyle, Tim Sellers, Melvin Steel, Dwight Reed, and Justin Maness.

Mr. Pruitt was born October 25, 1948 in Indiana to the late Rex and Jeanne (Howes) Pruitt. He was retired from the Proctor and Gamble Company and was a member of the New Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth James Pruitt and a brother, Merle Perdue.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sheila Pruitt; one daughter, Erin Williams (Kevin) both of Huntingdon; two sons, Matthew Pruitt (Jennifer) of Portland and Michael Daily of Nashville; one sister, Denise Burkhalter of Indiana. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Ryan Rogers, Lance Daily, Riley Rogers, Chase Williams, Bryce Daily, Robyn Rogers, and Jada Pruitt.
