Obituary

Mrs. Virginia "Jennie" Barnett, 77, of Huntingdon, Tennessee, passed away on Thanksgiving Day at her home in the presence of her loved ones.

Jennie was born on November 1, 1948, in Huntingdon, TN, to the late Dale Lipscomb Moore and Lela Vaughn Moore. She graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1966 and started her career at the Carroll County Hospital, where she worked for 22 years. She later worked for Carroll Hardwood, the Town of Huntingdon, and retired from Barger Construction as an office manager.

Jennie and Steve were married on June 4, 1971, at the First United Methodist Church. They were married 54 years.

Jennie was best known for her kind and caring spirit. She was a dedicated wife and a loving mother, sister, and friend. She was also the best "Nennie" to her six grandchildren. She loved music-especially Elvis, The Beatles, Lionel Richie, and any music that made her happy.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Barnett; a son, Matt Barnett (Edie) of Jackson; a daughter, Kelly Eubanks (Alan) of Huntingdon; four sisters, Dorothy Scott of Huntingdon, Ann Butler (Edward) of Bruceton, Barbara Clifton, and Shirley Dennison, both of Huntingdon; a brother, Emmit Moore (Phyllis) of Rockford, Illinois; and six grandchildren: Ali Estes (Tyler), Gray Eubanks, Hayes Eubanks, Price Barnett, Mac Eubanks, and Becca Barnett.

Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Lela Moore, and her brother, Bobby Moore.

Pallbearers who will serve are Gray Eubanks, Hayes Eubanks, Price Barnett, Mac Eubanks, Stephen Hall, Hunter Hall, T.J. Hall, Nick Coleman and Brent Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Weldon Bennett, Tommie Joe Hall, Philip Barnett, Richard Akin, Billie Hall "Squirrel" McConnell, Adam Hayes, and Van Walton  .

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
