Obituary

Jerry Joe Graves, 87, passed away peacefully at his home on May 9, 2020.

Private graveside funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Mount Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie.  Bro. Robert Barger officiated.

Jerry was born December 2, 1932 at his home in McLemoresville to the late Willard and Gertrude Graves.  He was a member of the Trezevant Church of Christ.

Jerry was one of the special people who graced our world.  He never met a stranger and loved to talk to anyone.  He helped his father on the farm for 30 years and then spent quite a few years walking the street of Huntingdon talking to people and visiting with friends at different businesses.  He family always appreciated the kindness shown to him by people like James Darnell, the late Troy Oatsvall and the "light guys" at the Carroll County Electric Department.

After his parent's death he spent the last twenty-three years of this life with his sister, Becky Fry, in Cedar Grove.  Even then people recognized him walking in the yard, asked how he was doing, and sent greetings.  It is truly amazing how many lives he touched.

Jerry is survived by his sister, Becky Fry, her children, Gina Fry and Franklin Fry.  His brother James Graves and wife Glenna, their children, Jim Graves, his wife Lorrie, Jerry Graves, Elizabeth Source and her husband, Philip, as well as nine great nieces and nephews.

He will be truly missed by his family, and all who knew him.
