Mr. Jimmy Ray Melton Sr., 77 of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Humbles Cemetery. Rev. Eugene Jones will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mr. Melton was born March 16, 1938 in Henderson County, Tennessee to the late Bill Melton and Elizabeth (Weathers) Melton. He was retired from the Town of Huntingdon. He was also preceded in death by four daughters, Victoria "Vicky" Johnson, Loretta Edmonson, Judy "Diane" Melton, and Mary "May" Melton; five brothers, Billy Ray Melton, Danny Ray Melton, Joe Staten, Denlee Weathers, and Bobby Staten; and three sisters, Dorothy McKinney, Jewel Menzies, and Nell Parker.

He is survived by his wife Daisy Melton, three daughters, Selita Annette McFadden, Priscilla Taylor both of Huntingdon, and Monica Melton of Bruceton; one son, Jimmy Ray Melton Jr. of Murfreesboro; five sisters, Sarah Melton of Bruceton, Bobbie Puckett of Henry, Patricia Seats of Cedar Grove, Alice Parker of Lexington, and Marilyn Buckley of Jackson; five brothers, Thomas Melton, Roger Melton both of Huntingdon, Paul Melton of Wildersville, Roger Dale Melton of Champaign, IL, and Ellis Ray Melton of Lexington. He also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and several friends.
