Mr. John C. "Pete" Halter, 85 of Clarksburg, Tennessee passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019 from injuries he received in a tractor accident.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the Jones Cemetery.  Bro. Phillip Halter will officiate the service.

Pallbearers who will serve are Glenn Halter, Danny Halter, Jeff Nanney, Caleb Harris, Stanley Scates, and David Rumley.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Saturday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Sunday from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Mr. Halter was born December 17, 1933 in Wildersville, Tennessee, to the late Lucian Halter and Stacey Lorene Scates Halter.  He was a farmer, served in the Army as a military policeman and a member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church.  One of his favorite hobbies was playing cards every day he could.  He was also preceded in death by his wife Claudine Halter, two brothers, Donald Halter and Dwight Halter.

He is survived by four sisters, Carolyn Lutz of Huntingdon, Jean H. Crownover (husband Jimmy) of Lexington, Judy White (husband Johnny) and Glenda Harris (husband Charles) both of Clarksburg.
