Obituary

Mr. John Charles "Red" Lessenberry, 81 of Huntingdon, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Bro. Chase Sanders and Bro. Billy Ringold will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Oakwood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday after 5:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

Pallbearers who will serve are Mike Kyle, Scotty Bailey, Ricky Scott, David Hilliard, Doug Hilliard and Bruce Wilson.

Mr. Lessenberry was born October 8, 1935 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late John D. and Vallie Bea (Barger) Lessenberry. He was retired from the Carroll County Highway Department and a member of the Clarksburg Church of Christ. He was also preceded in death by one son, Charles David Lessenberry, one great grand-daughter, Bianca Conroy, one brother, Larry Dean Lessenberry and an infant sister.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Julia G. Lessenberry, one daughter, Linda Carol DePriest (husband Jimmy) of Clarksburg, five sons, James Lyn Lessenberry of Huntingdon, Jeffery Allen Lessenberry (wife Donna) of Lexington, Phillip Wayne Hicks (wife Pat) of Huntingdon, Robert Anthony Hicks (wife Tena) of Cedar Grove, and Jonathan Olen Lessenberry (wife Christy) of McKenzie, one sister-in-law, Opal Lessenberry of Cedar Grove, one brother, Kenneth Norman Lessenberry of Milan. He also leaves fifteen grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
