Mr. John Wesley Sutton, 75, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Barger and Bro. Phil Williams officiating. Interment will follow Carter's Chapel Cemetery in Cedar Grove.
The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of service.
Mr. Sutton was born February 11, 1946 in Milan, Tennessee, to the late Chesley Bly Sutton and Molly Hester (Scott) Sutton. He retired from Procter & Gamble Manufacturing Company as the Maintenance Planner, was a member of Carter's Chapel United Methodist Church, Huntingdon Elk's Lodge #2152, and Rockabilly Hall of Fame. He served in the National Guard from 1966 – 1972. One of his favorite hobbies were playing music and singing with his band, Highway 70. Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Amy Sutton, two sisters, Raymell Watson, Mary Carroll, five brothers, Tye Sutton, Paul Sutton, Clifford Sutton, Hollis Sutton, and Algie Sutton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Robbie Sutton, special daughter, Jennie Melissa Townsend, one son, Scott Sutton, and one sister, Margaret Pearson (Billy), all of Huntingdon. He also leaves eight grandchildren, Ryan Maness, Brittany Stansel, Jerry Maness, Steven Maness, Will Townsend, Brayden, Townsend, Mason Townsend, and Nick Kopiar and several nieces and nephews.
