Mr. Joseph Haywood 83, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Carroll Memorial Gardens. Bro. Dan Winkler and Pastor Mark Carrigan will officiate the service.
The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood room of Chase Funeral Home on Saturday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Sunday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
Mr. Haywood was born on September 21, 1930 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late Thomas Leroy and Ima Jewel (Carnal) Haywood. He owned an appliance repair business, was a member of the Huntingdon Church of Christ, charter member of the Huntingdon Ruritan Club, also a member of the Good Sams Camping Club for several years and retired from the Army National Guard. He was also preceded in death by one son, Allen Gilbert and three brothers, Clayton Lloyd Haywood, Bobby Earl Haywood and Alton Haywood.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy Haywood; two daughters, Susan Parker (husband Joe) of Cedar Grove, Lea Etta Stokes (husband Steve) of Huntingdon; four sons, Danny Haywood (wife Gail) of Huntingdon, Patrick Haywood (wife Sherry) of Huntingdon, Neal Haywood (wife Tammy) of McKenzie, Richard Gilbert of Big Buck Community; two sisters, Sara Ballard of Clarksburg, Mary Morgan of Cedar Grove; three brothers, Tom Haywood of Huntingdon, Clifton Haywood of Alamo, Kentucky and Paul Haywood (wife Patsy) of Clarksburg. He also leaves fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
