Mrs. Leodia Phelps 94 of Yuma, Tennessee passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Saturday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Mrs. Phelps was born August 20, 1918 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late Willie Lee Pearson and Georgia (Crider) Pearson. She was a homemaker and a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Yuma. She was also preceded in by her husband; Ray Willard Phelps Sr., three sons; Ray Willard Phelps Jr., Joe Lewis Phelps and Leroy Phelps, one sister, seven brothers and grandchildren.

She is survived by five daughters; Elsie (Wardell) Seward of Milan, Virgie Phelps, Rebecca Phelps, Christella (Lester) Hillsman all of Yuma and Eula (Oscar) Johnson of Wildersville, one step daughter; Kay Raspberry of Lexington, three sons; Ardrian Phelps of Yuma, Walden (Janet) Phelps of Jackson and Arthur Wayne Phelps of Lexington. She also leaves twenty two grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
