Obituary

Mr. Leonard Granville Ellis, 87 of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at his home.

Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sellers Hill Cemetery. Bro. Joey Simmons will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Cherry Wood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Friday after 5:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

Mr. Ellis was born August 9, 1925 in Benton County, Tennessee to the late Leonard Clayton Ellis and Lula Bell (Noles) Ellis. He was a self employed farmer, a member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church and a Marine WWII Veteran. He was also preceded in death by his wife; Ruth Nelle (Scott) Ellis, a son; Terry Lynn Ellis and a sister; Nellie Ellis.

He is survived by one daughter; Deborah Spicer (husband John) of Huntingdon, three sisters; Mary Lee Noles of Huntingdon, Clarice Allen of Hollow Rock, Etta Lou Wilks of Bruceton and on brother; Williard Clayton Ellis (wife Mary) of Huntingdon. He also leaves four grandchildren; Kelly Pierce, Amy Morris, Sarah Bullington, Grant Ellis, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
