Mrs. Lula Mae Melton, 80 of Lexington, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Yuma. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday from 11:00 AM until time of service.
Mrs. Melton was born May 5, 1938 in Huntingdon, Tennessee to the late Labron Parker and Robena (Rivers) Parker. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She united in marriage to Paul Melton. To this union six children was born. She worked at Johnny Shiloh's and Deena' Restaurant. She was a devoted member of the church, joined the usher board, and sung in the choir until her health failed. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Melton.
She leaves to cherish her memories, three sons, Jerry Parker, Dwight Melton, Ricky Melton all of Lexington, TN, three daughters, Gail Melton of Wildersville, Pamela Melton, Rena Thomas both of Lexington, TN, two brothers, James Parker, Tony Hart, two sisters, Surrenda (Stanley) Ross, Peggy Hart, all of Wildersville. She also leaves ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, family, and a special caretaker, Mindy Bryant.
