Mr. Mack Porter Jones,74, of Cedar Grove, Tennessee passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to either LeBonheur Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thurday, November 5, 2020, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers who will serve are Steve Cardwell, Jim French, Richard Hood, Tyler Nelson, Steve Price, Colin Simmons, Lucas Simmons, and Kevin West.
The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of service.
Mr. Jones was born November 3, 1945 in Jackson, Tennessee, to the late Porter David and Myrtie (McAlexander) Jones. He worked for the West Carroll School System as maintenance supervisor and was a member of the Cool Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was also preceded in death by one grandchild, Erin Jones, two sisters, Betty Hogue and Charlotte Spain.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Jones, one daughter, Rita Gateley (Greg) of Cedar Grove, two sons, Ricky Jones (Rebekah) of Cedar Grove, Robin Jones (Tracy) of Jackson, three sisters, Addie Webb of Cedar Grove, Linda Cardwell of Trezevant, and Sandra Moore of Jackson. He also leaves six grandchildren, Jenny Tidwell, Trent Gateley, Jada Jones, Matt Jones, Macey Jones, Jordan Jones, and four great-grandchildren, J. C. Tidwell, Jonesy Tidwell, Jules Tidwell, and Jance Tidwell.
