Mrs. Martha Nell Seagraves, 91, of Yuma, Tennessee passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Huntingdon Health and Rehab.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. John D. Small, Bro. Rufus Chandler and Bro. Phillip Gulledge officiating the service. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church.
Pallbearers to serve are Darren Gooch, Ricky Umstead, Shan Cary, Michael Wood, Daniel Edwards and Billy Jack Gooch.
Honorary Pallbearers to serve are Brian Crum, Earl Longmire, Zach Smith and Blake Longmire.
Mrs. Seagraves was born October 11, 1926 to the late Sam Gooch and Callie Lee (Therrell) Gooch. She was a retired seamstress for Publix Shirt Corp and a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church since 1940 where she taught Sunday School. She also wrote the Yuma News for the Carroll County News Leader. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Seagraves; six sisters, Ruth Todd, Euba Edwards, Frances Umstead, Lizzie Cary, Pat Wood and Dorothy Seagraves; two brothers, J.F. Gooch and Sam Edward Gooch; a step grandchild, Stephanie Silhan Harris; great grandson, Liam Silhan and a son in law, Barry Wooley.
She is survived by a daughter, Marcia Wooley of Yuma; a son, Dale Seagraves (Wilma) of Yuma; three grandchildren, Tina Crum (Brian), Tracy Longmire (Earl) and Tiffany Pritchard; a step grandson, Jonathan Silhan (Courtney); five great grandchildren, Blake Longmire (Meagan), Ashley Longmire Smith (Zach), Chloe Rae Crum, Briley Crum and Kendall Pritchard; three great great grandchildren, Jack and Levi Longmire and Maverick Smith.
