Mrs. Martha Smith 71, of Hollow Rock, Tennessee passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Jamison Cemetery. Bro. Robert Simmons will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

Mrs. Smith was born April 16, 1943 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late William Curtis and Lura Estelle (Simpson) McDowell. She retired from the Migs Company, a member of the Concord Missionary Baptist Church, and attended Calvary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Smith; two sisters, Dora Lewis, Doris Sanders and one brother, William McDowell Jr.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Griffin (husband Mike) of Nashville; one step son, Kenneth Smith (wife April) of Arkansas; one sister, Nona Moore of Bruceton and one brother, Larry McDowell of Huron. She also leaves one granddaughter, Christa Griffin and several nieces and nephews.
