Obituary

Mr. Charles Marvin Edwards 87, of the Mixie Community passed away Friday, February 08, 2013 at the Regional Hospital in Jackson.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mebane Cemetery. Bro. Joe Abbott will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood room of Chase Funeral Home on Saturday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Sunday from 11:00 AM until time of service.

Mr. Edwards was born November 11, 1925 in Hollow Rock, Tennessee to the late Robert Lee and Donnie (Gooch) Edwards. He was a lifelong farmer, a World War II Army Veteran, member of Veteran of Foreign Wars, member of the County Quarterly Court, School Bus Driver, had served as Director of the Farm Bureau Agency, State President of the National Farmers Organization, served as chairman Pro Tempo for two years while serving on the Carroll County Commission, Charter member of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, had served as Chairman of the Carroll County Democratic Committee, road supervisor for the Carroll County Highway Department for eight years, and listed in the Who's Who in American Politics. He was also preceded in by his wife of 64 years; Bula Lee (Cobb) Edwards and a brother, Marshall Edwards.

He is survived by, two daughters; Phyllis Smith of Jackson, Sheila Edwards of Hollow Rock and one son Brian Edwards (wife Suzie) of Huntingdon He also leaves six grandchildren, Jordan Smith (wife Meredith), Eli Edwards, Chad Edwards (wife Ashley), Evan Edwards, Robyn Edwards and Ian Edwards and one great grandson, Wesley Edwards.
