Mrs. Mary Katherine Beard, 97, of Bruceton, Tennessee passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Baptist Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 11:00 A.M., in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Melton officiating. Interment will follow in Flatwoods Cemetery in Benton County.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until time of service.

Pallbearers who will serve are Dan Rudolph, Scotty Higdon, James Sloan, Jimmy Hampton, Jimmy Pinson, and Chris King.

Mrs. Beard was born on May 14, 1925, in Dallas Texas, to the late Thomas Gorley and Lillie Bell Hudson.  She was a seamstress at H.I.S. and attended Sandy Point Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Beard, and a brother, T.G. Hudson.

She is survived by two daughters, Sue Crockett (Jim) of Huntingdon, Jo Ann Beard, of Knoxville, two grandchildren, Diana Walker (Matthew) of Huntingdon, Larry Crockett (Gina) of Nashville, and three great-grandchildren, Jessica Crockett, Jamie Lyn Crockett, and Hannah Neely. She also leaves three nieces, Betty Bruce, of Jackson, Marilyn Flowers and Kathy Hicks, of Dyersburg, and a nephew L.D. Beard of Memphis.
