Obituary

Mrs. Mary Tippitt 97, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Long Rock United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Long Rock Cemetery. Bro. Alex Hilliard and Bro. Wayne Holmes will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Oakwood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Thursday after 5:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

Pallbearers who will serve are her grandchildren.

Mrs. Tippitt was born December 22, 1915 in Ward, Arkansas to the late Charles Thomas and Ora (McIver) Pate. She was the oldest member of the Long Rock United Methodist Church since 1951, a homemaker, a member of the Women's Farm Bureau and Cannon Home Demonstration Club. She was also preceded in death by her husband Bruce Elmer Tippitt, one sister, Barbara Pate and two brothers, James Pate and Jesse Pate.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol Bennett (husband Weldon), three sons, Glenn Tippitt (wife Janice), Larry Tippitt (wife Annice) and Tommy Tippitt (wife Lisa) all of Huntingdon. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
