Obituary

Mrs. Maxine Hammett 82, of Cedar Grove, Tennessee passed away Thursday, January 02, 2014 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery. Bro. Robert Barger will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Oakwood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery Fund.

Mrs. Hammett was born September 13, 1931 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late Jack and Audra (Fry) Duncan. She was a retired factory for Basler Electric, homemaker and a member of the Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Justion Hammett; three sisters, Uldean Fry, Jennie Lee Keel, Mattie Sue Roe, and five brothers, Harry Duncan, Delbert Duncan, John Frank Duncan, Joe Bill Duncan, and Clinton Duncan.

She is survived by one son Greg Hammett (wife Ann) of Cedar Grove; two grandchildren, Grant Hammett (wife Ashley), Alison Cooper (husband Mike); three great grandchildren, Jace Hammett, Aubrey Kate Hammett and Carson Cooper. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and a special friend and caretaker, Elsie Moore.
