Mrs. Melba Sue Boyd, 90 of McHenry, Illinois passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 6, 2022, surrounded by her loving family, in McHenry, Illinois.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until Noon with burial to immediately follow at Christian Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Chris King officiating.

Mrs. Boyd was born November 15, 1931 in Huntingdon, Tennessee, to the late Kim and Ester (Smith) Dill.  Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Tyler Boyd, daughter Janice Sue Geller, sister Vonell Smothers, brothers Ray Dill and Junior Dill.

She is survived by her beloved companion, Mike Vanderwalker, children, Diane Dodd (Carter Daly) of Downers Gove, Illinois, Stanley Boyd (Rhoda) of Versailles, Missouri, Wendell Smothers (Sharon) of Richmond, Illinois, sister, Evelyn Faye Miller of Huntingdon.  She was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Joyce Dodd-Coward, Kimberly Dodd-Wisnoski, Christina Campbell, Michael Laporte, Jason Geller, Linzy Maldonado, Randy Boyd, Jolon Wickern and great grandchildren, Kenny Snyder, Philip Snyder, Jordan Boyd, Duncan Wickern, Kayla Wickern, Jasmine Velez, Isabel Velez, Rhea Miller, Randa Hibdon, and Julian Boyd.  She also leaves many other family members.
