Mrs. Melba Joyce Johnson, 81, of Cedar Grove, Tennessee, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the New Liberty Cemetery. Bro. Brian Johnson will officiate the service.
The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Sunday, from 3:00PM until 9:00PM and on Monday, from 10:00AM until time of service.
Pallbearers who will serve are James Tucker, Steve Williamson, Edward Harris, Gayle Kyle, Justin Maness, Tim Sellers, Dwight Reed, and Charles Connell.
Mrs. Johnson was born August 2, 1932 in to the late Hobert and Annie (Holladay) Bridges. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was also a member of the New Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband Dr. B.L. Johnson, a son, Thomas B. Johnson, and daughter in law, Cindy Johnson, a grandson, Parker Bryce Johnson, and a brother, Norman Dale Bridges.
She is survived by one son, David Johnson (wife Christy) of Columbia, TN one sister, Peggy Reed of Huntingdon, four grandchildren, Brian Johnson (wife Jenna) of White House, TN, Kimberly Maness (husband Allen) of Cedar Grove, Hayden and Mason Johnson of Columbia, TN and seven great grandchildren, Daniel, Samuel, and Elias Johnson, and Landon, Kenley, Karlee, and Kallie Maness.
