James Michael "Mike" Hutchens, age 60 of Portage, Indiana passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021 in Hobart, Indiana. He was born on January 23, 1961 in Hammond, Indiana to James and Marjorie (Fields) Hutchens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Mixie Cemetery with Sis. Glenda Daniel officiating.

Mike enjoyed fishing and motorcycles but especially spending time with his family. He was a loving son, father, brother, grandfather and uncle and will be deeply missed.

Mike is survived by his mother, Marjorie (Fields) Hutchens; daughter, Kimberly (William) Lock; brother, Barry Hutchens; two sisters, Shannon (Dave) Burhans and Deborah (Danny) Ruder; grandchildren, Dakota and Willow; significant other, Sandra Bumbales; nieces and nephews, Taylor and C.J. Burhans, Nikki and Steve Ruder and Brendon Kammer. He was preceded in death by his father, James Hutchens.
