Ms. Mildred Sue Meggs 84, of Cedar Grove, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the New Independence Cemetery. Bro. Robert Martin will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Cherry Wood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until service time.

Ms. Meggs was born July 12, 1930 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late Frank Bascum Hardy and Lula Bell (Bird) Hardy. She was a homemaker for most of her life but she also worked for the H I S Company in Trezevant when she was younger for about 15 years and was a member of the Leach Full Gospel Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Meggs, three brothers, Lewis Hardy, Ercel Hardy, an infant brother, and one sister, Betty Ruth Kelly

She is survived by two sons, Dale Meggs (wife Tracy) of Monterey, David Meggs (wife Pam) of Huntingdon. She also leaves three grandchildren, Anna Meggs, Adam Meggs, Jason Meggs, and two great grandchildren, Sierra Meggs, Mason Essary and her beloved four legged friend, "Buddy" .
