Mrs. Mildred Neil Moore 93, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Ferguson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Chase Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
Pallbearers who will serve are Grayson Wells, Seth Wells, Lucas Wells, Darrin Sheffield, Ethan Magee and Robert Kraft.
Mrs. Moore was born January 22, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Bernard Neil and Abbie Virginia (King) Green. She was a retired nurse from the Johnson County Memorial Hospital, a member of the Leach Seventh Day Adventist Church, Daughters of American Revaluation and the Silver Threads Quilting Club in Huntingdon, and also volunteered at the Genealogical Library. She went back to college at age 64, went on a month long tour of Europe with her college friends, climbed Mt. St. Helen when she was 72 and was still able to run until her stroke in May of 2013. She was also preceded in death by a son, Bruce Eugene Moore and three brothers, King Green, Charles Andrew Green and Ewell Hughes "Ted" Green.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Robert Ralph Moore; four daughters, Lisa Bernadine Wells (Robert Kraft) of Nashville, Peggy Ann Smith of Tupelo, Mississippi, Caroline Ruth Moore, M.D. of Joshua Tree, California and Sandra Marie Moore, N.P. of Amory, Mississippi and one son Robert Neil Moore of Grand Junction, Colorado, She also leaves thirteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and a grandson –in- law who she loved as her own son, David Sheffield.
